It takes a lot of skill to be able to bake the perfect cake – factors like temperature and timing must be absolutely perfect when it comes to baking. Have you ever tried to bake two things at once? What about hundreds of things at once? If you think you are awesome at making magic in the oven, then you will absolutely adore Jimmy Clerk.
Jimmy, a Pickens, Mississippi native, came to Pirouline fresh out of training at Job Corps and was ready to take his first steps into the job force. At the time, he was just looking for a job to provide for himself, but 22 years later you can still find Jimmy at the Pirouline bakery.
“Its a good job,” he said, smiling. “I love working at the cookie plant!”
Jimmy plays an important role at the bakery, overseeing the oven which bakes the rolled wafers. He sees thousands of rolled wafers come in and out of the oven – in fact, if you’ve had a Pirouline cookie in the past 22 years, it was probably baked by Jimmy! Jimmy makes sure that the rolled wafers are baked to the perfect temperature and has the signature crispy and flaky outer layer that Pirouline fans adore.
His favorite part of the job is when he knows the oven is running smoothly, and he loves to make sure it stays sparkling clean and ready for the next batch of cookies. When we asked him what his favorite flavor of Pirouline is, he laughed.
“Vanilla, dark chocolate, pumpkin spice, strawberry, AND chocolate hazelnut!” Jimmy jokes, saying that his lunch consists of mainly Piroulines every day.
We are so thankful to have hard-working teammates like Jimmy, who have grown up at Pirouline and make a huge difference with using their skills to spread the magic of Piroulines all over the country.
